Gutenberg Publisher has published a book of Andrei Khadanovich’s poetic libretto for the opera by composer Volha Padhaiskaya, based on the story by Uladzimir Karatkevich “The Wild Hunt of King Stakh”.
According to Andrey Khadanovich, this is a unique cultural project.
“This is what is actually a poetic libretto, but I have already got used to the formula “poems for opera”. The fantastic production of the Free Theater of Kaliada and Khalezin, which took place in London on the stage of the Barbican International Art Center, with the brilliant music of Volha Padhaiskaya,” the poet noted.
The production based on the classic work by Uladzimir Karatkevich “The Wild Hunt of King Stakh” was shown in mid-September last year on the stage of the London Barbican. It is a synthesis of opera, drama theater and live music. And so the poetic libretto of the opera, written by Andrei Khadanovich, was published as a book.
