The Center of Belarusian Culture in Bialystok began its publishing activity with a “pilot“ – a collection of short stories by Michal Androsiuk ”Bison and other stories”, which has already appeared on sale.
The collection, translated from Belarusian into Polish for the first time, was presented by Ilona Karpiuk, Deputy Director of the Center for Belarusian Culture.
“In Podlasie, I can already say that on October 18th, in Hajnowka, in the foundation “Church music”, its estate ”Cherlenka”. There will be a presentation of this book. We will announce even earlier when we will meet with the author and this book in Bialystok. If someone wants to order a copy, you can contact the Center of Belarusian Culture,“ she said.
The center also works with the foundation in Kamunikat.org He also published a collection of poems by Uladzimir Arlou in Latin, which was presented by the head of the foundation Jaroslaw Iwaniuk.
“This book was previously published by Lohvinau publishing house, but it was made in a different way now. There these verses were in Latin and Cyrillic. Supporting the Belarusian Latin alphabet, we were guided primarily by the fact that during various types of meetings, trips, fairs, people asked if there were books in Latin,” he said.
It is expected that the first author meetings around the publications printed with the participation of the Center of Belarusian Culture in Bialystok will take place in October, both in the city and in the region.
