“Bright Souls in Dark Times” in the Warsaw space ”Doing Together”

“Bright Souls in Dark Times” – an exhibition under this name is working in the space ”Doing Together” in Warsaw. It combines the work of three Belarusian artists who paint in three different directions. Accordingly, they work with different techniques and materials: with acrylics, oils, and watercolors.

According to Volga Pashkovich, the organizer of the exhibition, the idea to organize such an exhibition came to her in a dream:

– This exhibition magically came to me in a dream, and I decided to realize it. I was prompted to do this by the thought that some have been in forced emigration for the third, fourth, and fifth years here. And people now have such a temporary feeling of depression, a feeling of something so gloomy. So, can there be anything positive about forced emigration? I thought about it.

After this exhibition, the creators decided to continue the collaboration of their trio and organize exhibitions together. As the artist Jauhenia Poluyan notes, they want to promote the positive in art.:

– Now some kind of fashion has gone-artists are painting some kind of depressive state. I don’t want to be in this depressive state, because I’m tired of it. I want some hope, some joy of life. There are a lot of paintings that you look at and don’t want to live. Of course, the painting can be different. But I want a positive moment, and so do the girls. We decided that we would be together.

The exhibition “Bright Souls in Dark Times” in the Warsaw space “Doing Together” will be available for another week. It will be open until March 17, on weekdays – from 13.00 to 21.00, on weekends – from 11.00 to 21.00.
