In Lithuania the Svitanak ethnocenter invites you to travel to Podlasie

Maryna Struneuskaya

The Svitanak ethnocenter invites everyone to travel to the Bahach holiday in Podlasie. It will take place on September 27-29 on the route Vilnius-Bialystok-Bielsk (Studziwody) – Vilnius.

As the guest of the radio says -the head of the ethnocenter” Svitanak ” Maryna Struneuskaya, during the trip Belarusians will get acquainted with the ethnic Belarusians of Podlasie and their cultural heritage. The trip will also include sightseeing tours of the surrounding area to explore the history and traditions of Podlaskie Belarusians, visits to museums.

“I want to invite listeners to Podlasie with the Svitanak group. On the 27th we will leave Vilnius, we will go to the exhibition of national costumes by Kaciaryna Vadanosava, and then we will have an evening with the diaspora of Bialystok. On the 28th we will go to our Belarusians in Podlasie, to ethnic Belarusians. There are two groups, Anna and Doroteusz Fionik, who lead two groups “Zemerwa” and “Osocznik”.

We will have a joint concert, a wedding concert, where we will explain what songs were sung, what rituals were performed. Of course, we will perform the ceremony Bahach. And we will spend the night in a real village. But everything is done modernly, and induction stoves, and very comfortable rooms. But you look out the window – and there’s just a field, a village, a space where children can run and adults can light a fire. Everything is very authentic there, there is a place for children to run, and we still have such a super task – to pass from generation to generation, to grow the next nation. And the best example is to take your child and go on a trip with us,” Maryna Strunevskaya said.
