Neighboring countries of Belarus want to include Christmas Eve traditions in the UNESCO World Heritage List

Lithuania, Ukraine and Poland are preparing a joint application for the inclusion of the Christmas Eve tradition common to the countries in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

According to the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture, this was announced by Deputy Minister of Culture Ingrid Velute during the first meeting in the Cultural Ramstein format, which took place in Uzhhorod, Ukraine.

The meeting was timed to discuss the restoration of Ukrainian culture, which is also suffering from Russian aggression.

As one of the projects aimed at supporting culture, Ingrid Velute named “the preparation of a joint application by Lithuania, Ukraine and Poland for the inclusion of the Christmas Eve tradition in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.”

In Belarus, there is also a tradition of Christmas Eve, on Christmas Eve.
