The “Sung town“ is 70 years old, and the ”Autumn leaf” is 30. On this occasion, a large anniversary concert was held in the Gminic House of Culture in Grodek, which brought together townspeople, friends of the bands and guests.
The “Sung town” is the oldest ensemble in Grodek, which has long been considered the musical face of this town. Interestingly, the collective appeared long before the House of Culture appeared in the town.
Today, next to the “Sung town”, the gmina is represented by the “Autumn leaf“ from Grodek and the ”Kalina” from Zaluki. All these bands have a similar style and strive to sing their own songs, former ones, or at least represent the Belarusian song in the traditional sound for this area. So the fashion for the soundtrack has not started here, and the accordion traditionally accompanies the singing.
They say the singer from the ”Sung tow“ Maria Wroblewska and the harmonica player of the ”Sung town“ and ”Autumn leaf” Wiktor Malanczyk:
– We need to distinguish them a little bit with their songs – one band, then another. The best impressions, thank God I lived to see such a holiday, the girls are wonderful, God grant I still have time, and that my health does not let me down.
– I write poetry, process it myself, and sing. Sometimes our maestro Wiktor Malanczyk brings songs, he brings a lot. So we take, process, and sing, we have something new every year. The main language is the language of singing.
The members of the groups emphasize that they have always been sung mainly by middle-aged women who have already raised children and had free time. But now the singers hope to see more young people in their ranks. They say that this is not only a matter of further life of the ensembles, but also of maintaining the Belarusian language in Grodek. After all, not only at performances, but also at rehearsals, it is customary to speak Belarusian among themselves here.

By the anniversary date, a CD of both teams was published under the title “Today is our holiday.”
