The 43rd International Festival of Church Music has begun in Hajnowka

The Universitas Choir from Romania opened the 43rd International Church Music Festival in Hajnowka on May 13.

In addition, on the first day of the festival, the Prince Konstanty Ostrogski Prize was awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of spirituality and activities aimed at uniting Christians. Among the laureates is Father Georgy Latushka, rector of St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Minsk.

“Today’s singing in Hajnowka is the voice of our love for you, who is our Lord and Savior. Singing in church is your voice with us, because every note is your breath. When we sing during the Easter period, we realize your victory over death. St. John Chrysostom in his Easter word taught: hell! Is your victory coming? Christ has risen and the demons have fallen. Christ has risen and life has shone in fullness. Christ is risen and no one remains dead. We proclaim this truth to the world through Easter songs. Singing in the Orthodox Church,” the priest said.

The Church Music Festival takes place in Hajnowka from May 13 to May 18. Choirs from Podlasie, as well as from other countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Serbia and Northern Macedonia – will perform for the audience during the week.
