The Ministry of Information has updated the list of “extremist” materials. This time it included a documentary film directed by Maria Bulavinskaya “The Forest” about the Stalinist repressions. The decision was made by the court of the Central District of Homel on January 29.
The documentary “The Forest” shows several stories of the 1930s about Stalin’s repressions. One of them is about a Homel official who survived the shooting in the Navabelitsa forest near Homel.
According to archaeological excavations in 1995, NKVD officers shot Soviet citizens in this forest.
