
A two-day International Conference has started in the Bialystok Museum of the Memory of Siberia “Memory of generations.”
The conference is hosted by the head of the scientific department of the museum, Marcin Zwolski.
“1000 representatives of Siberian families from all over the world who come to Poland every year for their congress. This is the second year that this congress has been taking place here, at the Museum of the Memory of Siberia. This is a congress during which people meet, talk, but also want to learn something, there is always a scientific conference. We have participants here from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, and we really see a lot of new faces compared to last year,” he said.
The Memory of Generations conference is timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Soviet Russian attack on Poland and World Siberian Day. The event is co-organized by the Kresy – Siberia Foundation, which is mainly engaged in documenting and disseminating knowledge about the victims of Soviet repression.
