The Krynachka Festival was held in Hajnowka

The Krynachka Festival was traditionally held in Hajnowka on Tuesday (June 25), which falls on the Orthodox Trinity.

The Feast of the Trinity (also well known in the Belarusian national calendar as either Pentecost or Green Yuletide) is one of the most important for Orthodox Christians.

The third day of Pentecost for the residents of Gaynovka and the Orthodox of Podlasie is the time of prayer in the church in Krynachka. Pilgrims and Orthodox from all the surrounding areas gather there, in a small village in Bialowieza Forest, also known for its holy spring.

“Many people pray. Then the holiday is the third day. We are all here in Hajnowka. We don’t work on the field. We celebrate as we celebrate – we play. People really like Belarusian songs,” says Halena Bondaruk, a member of the “Bricks” collective.

The Krynachka Festival is held in the Hajnowka’s Amphitheater. Guests are also invited to it, but each collective of Hajnowka considers it its duty to perform in this festive concert. Hajnowka residents consider Krynachka to be their important local Belarusian holiday.

Krynachka is organized by the Belarusian Socio-Cultural Society in cooperation with the Hajnowka House of Culture and thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.
