The XXVI presentation of the Christmas collectives “Gwiazda and Koladka” took place in Bialystok

The XXVI presentation of Christmas groups took place in the sports hall of primary school No. 44 at 13 Rumiankowa Street in Bialystok ”Gwiazda and Koladka”. The event gathered more than 200 spectators, including representatives of the Belarusian Socio-Cultural Society in Poland.

“The first event of the new year. The public is always very interested in them too. The new carolers singing in our Orthodox carols are the choir from Krolowy Most, the choir of the Orthodox brotherhood of Saints Cyril and Methodius from Bielsk, the Choir of the Resurrection of the Lord from Bialystok,” says the chairman of the society Bazyli Siegien.

“It is very important that we, the Orthodox in Podlasie, do not forget our history and traditions. For me, as a priest, it is very important that young children do not forget about traditions, do not forget that they need to come to church on the one hand, and on the other hand, to keep these traditions in their homes,” adds Father Dawid Bartoszuk, vicar of All Saints Parish in Bialystok.

The presentation of the Christmas groups was realized thanks to a grant from the Ministry of the Interior and the Polish administration, which allowed for free admission for everyone and gifts for the speakers. More than 100 performers took part in the program: children, youth and adults, who presented traditional Christmas skits, songs and dances.
