On September 12, a mass verdict was handed down in the Brest district court for allegedly active participation in actions grossly violating public order. 11 local residents were immediately convicted of participating in the protest action on August 10, 2020.
These are Ilya Sabko, Aliaksandr Zaitsau, Mikalai Kaplyuk, Kiryll Eutyshyk, Mikalai Misyuk, Artur Zaremba, Dzmitry Lysyuk, Aleh Bandaruk, Mikhail Veramchuk, Dzmitry Salaveyka, Dzianis Yakavenka. The judge sentenced them to terms ranging from two years of “home chemistry” to one and a half years in prison.
The essence of the accusation against everyone was that people on August 10, 2020 in Brest “shouted slogans, showed white-red-white canvases, went out onto the roadway.” By doing so, they allegedly grossly violated public order.
