A Belarusian citizen was detained in Warsaw on suspicion of attempted sabotage

Employees of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) detained in Warsaw a Belarusian citizen suspected of attempting to set fire to an object located in Gdansk. This is reported by the Internal Security Agency itself.

According to it, this is another detention during the investigation of the activities of an organized criminal group, which, on behalf of foreign intelligence services, committed acts of sabotage, in particular arson. In January and May of this year, Polish counterintelligence detained citizens of Poland, Ukraine and Belarus responsible for arson attacks on the territory of Gdansk, Gdynia and Marek, who were also preparing to set fire to facilities on the territory of Wroclaw.

In the course of the procedural measures carried out, objects that could be used to carry out sabotage measures were identified and extracted.

The prosecutor’s office charged the detainee with participating in an organized criminal group of an international nature and committing acts of sabotage and sabotage or terrorist crimes on behalf of foreign intelligence. Even life imprisonment is threatened for the committed actions.

The District Court of Wroclaw-Srodmiescie arrested the suspect for three months. The investigation of the case is ongoing.
