On Sunday, January 19, Belarusians of Bialystok staged a rally on the occasion of the approaching the sham election in Belarus. By doing so, they reminded the world of the conditions in which these “elections” will take place – beyond the law, justice, and truth. Against the background of repression, humiliation, intimidation of the people, against the background of the war.
The action took place in the Free Belarus Park near the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus.
The participants of the action say:
– So that Belarusians can also see inside the country that Belarusians abroad came out to the rally to once again tell about political prisoners, about the true situation in Belarus and that Belarus is in a concentration camp, and so we can sum up this unelected campaign that will occur on January 26.
– I urge you not to go to these ”elections” because it is dangerous, it is better to stay at home with your family, maybe go to your grandparents. It will be more useful.
– What kind of elections are these when a citizen of Belarus cannot go to vote because he lives abroad? It has always been possible, and it is also possible in all countries. But now you can’t.
The so-called presidential elections will be held in Belarus on January 26. Early voting will begin tomorrow. It should be reminded that for the first time in history Belarusians will not be able to vote outside the country. The regime in Minsk abolished this possibility after 2020.
