The participants of the action, representatives of the “Ultimatum for Lukashenka” initiative and the Youth Hub (the Belarusian space “Doing together”) gathered outside the American Embassy to express support for the US policy towards Belarus.
The protesters stressed the importance of negotiations with the Lukashenka regime for the release of political prisoners and the cessation of repression in Belarus.
“The Trump team has shown interest in this issue and has taken certain steps. Of course, they are insufficient. We need more effort. That’s why we decided to contact this team, and letters have been sent, and 32 Nobel laureates have signed up. And this letter is also addressed to the Trump team. However, letters alone are not enough,” says Anatol Fedarau, a participant in the action.
He believes that international support, including the United States, is a key factor in achieving change in the country.
