Another solidarity rally with political prisoners was held in Warsaw

Another rally was held in Warsaw in solidarity with political prisoners who are being tortured in the penal colonies and prisons in Belarus.

“The event was sparsely populated, but these were Belarusians who feel responsible to their friends, relatives, and like–minded people,” says Vasil Pleshkunou, the organizer of the action, a member of the Belarusians of Warsaw NGO and the Belarusian Association of Political Prisoners for Freedom.

“Polina Sharendo-Panasyuk said at the last press conference why there are no sanctions on political prisoners? What kind of negotiations can there be with terrorists? What we are now hearing from our political prisoners who have been released is shocking and outraging. Because the one who seized power in our country releases political prisoners with one hand and detains them with the other. And it delays a lot more. In January alone, more than 500 people were captured”, said he.

In the end, the next theme of the action for February 23 was announced: the anniversary of the death in prison of political prisoner human rights defender Ihar Lednik and solidarity with women political prisoners who are especially tortured behind bars. A traditional general snapshot of the participants was taken.
