Poland is developing a mandatory military training plan for all adult men, aimed at increasing the country’s defense capability. The goal is to create an army of half a million people, including reservists.

Bogdan Dyjuk, a member of the Board of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, noted that both Polish citizens and foreigners, including those living in the region, will be able to participate in these exercises:

– The situation that is taking place in eastern Europe, beyond our eastern border, including the war in Ukraine, as well as the situation in Belarus, necessitates the acquisition of military knowledge. We are not saying that we go into battle and hold our weapons. Let’s just become cannon fodder. This is an introduction to basic knowledge of civil defense. This refers to Polish citizens, and anyone who has the right to reside in Poland can also join.

This year, according to the decree of the Polish Ministry of National Defense, it is planned to train a record 329.7 thousand people, which is the highest figure in history. About 200,000 of them will take part in short-term one-day reservist exercises.
