An exhibition dedicated to political prisoner human rights defender Ales Bialiatski has opened in the European Parliament.
The head of the Belarusian House in Warsaw, Ales Zarembiuk, told about the opening of the exhibition. “The opening of the exhibition is about our Nobel Laureate, Ales Bialiatski, a man who is an example of courage, an example of fortitude and an example of commitment to the European values on which the European Union is based. Because Ales began his struggle for an independent, democratic Belarus, for Belarusian Belarus, for Belarus with the state Belarusian language, which is now more relevant than ever since his student years,” he said.
According to Zarembyuk, the Belarusian Freedom Day was organized by the deputy from Poland, a long-term member of the democratic Belarus and the Belarusian society, Mr. Andrzej Galicki, as well as representatives of the delegation for relations with Belarus in the European Parliament. These are mainly European deputies from Poland and Lithuania, who, despite the changes in one or another policy over the past decade, have always been together with the Belarusian society, which longs for Belarus to be a democratic and independent state.
