The famous Belarusian journalist Andrei Mialeshka was not allowed to Georgia, where he has been living nhs for recent years.
On the night of September 16, Andrei and his daughter were returning to Georgia from Poland, but were not allowed into the country at the Kutaisi airport. The journalist reported this on his social networks.
Andrei Mialeshka has been living in Georgia for the last three years, as he experienced political persecution in Belarus and had to leave. According to the journalist, the Georgian border guards did not explain the reason for not being allowed into the country.
The journalist told that he would be deported to Poland on the next flight.
“I can find out why I was not allowed in until 15 o’clock. I don’t understand anything that in this document that I was given, it says “other reasons,” says Andrei Mialeshka.
The journalist also says that they were locked in a room with their daughter and their passports were taken away, so the journalist cannot ask for political asylum either — a passport is needed for this.
Civil society associates such actions of the Georgian authorities with the rapprochement of the Georgian political course with Russia.
