Anna Paniszewa, a former director of a Polish school in Brest and a former political prisoner, has put forward her candidacy for local government elections in Warsaw. She represents the opposition “Law and Justice” party (PiS).
On her Facebook page, Paniszewa announced that she was running in the Warsaw district of Makotow and wanted to continue working in the team of Tobiasz Bochenski – a candidate for the presidency of the Polish capital.
Local elections in Poland will be held on April 7.
Paniszewa is a former defendant in the so-called “Case of the Poles.” She was detained in March 2021. At the end of May, Paniszewa and two other people were taken to the border with Poland without the right to return.
