Latvian Parliament supports ban on tourist trips to Belarus

In the first reading, the Latvian parliament by a majority of votes supported amendments to the law on tourism prohibiting tourist trips to Belarus and Russia. This is reported by the portal Delfi.lv.

The ban was approved in order to minimize the risks of possible human rights violations for Latvian citizens, as well as to prevent their recruitment. Moreover, Latvia is one of the countries whose citizens are allowed visa-free entry to Belarus.
