Negotiations on the release of a political prisoner, an activist of the Polish minority in Belarus, journalist Andrzej Poczobut are underway at the level of lower-level officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the consular service, Radio ZET reports, citing a diplomatic source.
One of the arguments from the Polish side is the closure of cargo traffic at the border.
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Szejna, on the air of the same radio station, called three conditions for the normalization of relations between Warsaw and Minsk. In addition to the release of Andrzej Poczobut and other political prisoners, these are the cessation of hybrid attacks at the border, as well as cooperation in the investigation of the murder of a Polish soldier by a migrant.
Radio ZET adds that the fulfillment of these conditions may become a reason for negotiations on the opening of additional border checkpoints.
