The so-called blockade of railway traffic in the large customs clearance terminal in Malaszewicze on the border with Belarus lasted for thirty-three hours, Polish media write.

RMF FM radio station reported, citing its sources, that it was a demonstration of capabilities and a clear signal to the Lukashenka regime that the Polish authorities can legally block rail transit from the East to the European Union. This information was transmitted to the radio by Polish diplomats.

Officially, the customs services reported that planned control measures were being carried out to protect the customs territory of the European Union from the arrival of dangerous goods or substances. The mix of containers that entered Poland through Belarus, mainly from China, was carefully checked.

The Polish government has decided to put pressure on the Lukashenka regime, for which transit revenues account for most of the income, the radio noted. Poland is counting on pressure on Minsk from China, which may lose if the terminal in Malaszewicze is blocked. It is from here that Chinese goods reach the West by land.
