Poland is not considering opening closed checkpoints on the border with Belarus

Poland is not currently considering the opening of closed checkpoints on the border with Belarus due to the lack of steps forward on pressing issues from Minsk.

This was stated at a press conference in Bialystok after a meeting with local law enforcement agencies by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of Poland Tomasz Siemoniak.

“We would really like the border crossings to be open, but there are no signs that this will happen in the near future,” he said. He blamed Belarus.

Currently, there is only one crossing on the Belarusian-Polish border for trucks Kozlovichi-Kukuryki, as well as one for passenger transport and buses – Brest-Terespol. In addition, all railway crossings for freight transport are operating normally.
