Poland is thinking of closing all border crossings on the border with Belarus

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski spoke about the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border.

In an interview with TVN24, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry said that the question is being studied that such a decision would be harmful to the economy.

“Taking into account the actions of Belarus, we are considering the possibility of closing all border crossings. Now we are looking into whether this is harmful to the economy. The Finns closed the border crossings with Russia, and the problems stopped,“ said the head of Polish diplomacy.

In turn, Pavel Latushka, a representative of the Joint Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, supported the closure of all commodity checkpoints “in order to force Lukashenka to stop complicity in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, stop mass repressions against Belarusians and release political prisoners, stop the hybrid war using migrants against Poland and other EU countries.”

“At the same time, it is important to preserve the possibility of Belarusian citizens crossing the border through passenger checkpoints. It is important to preserve the opportunity for Belarusians to communicate with Europe,” the opposition Belarusian politician said.
