A commission for the study of Belarusian and Russian influence began its work in Poland in the period from 2004 to 2024. This was announced by Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a press conference.
According to the Prime Minister, the commission is politically independent and will investigate Russian and Belarusian influence in the sectors of economy, security, state and media. The work of the commission will be coordinated by the Ministry of Justice. It was headed by Jaroslaw Struzyk, the head of military counterintelligence. The commission also included various experts delegated by government agencies.
“It is important that the commission bring us – the authorities and public opinion – information about what real threats from Russia and Belarus looked like in the past and look like now. We know for sure that these two countries and their services are most active in Poland,” Donald Tusk said.
