
The topic of Belarus will be one of the priorities during Poland’s EU presidency, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Henryka Moscicka-Dendys said at a meeting with Head of the People’s Anti-Crisis Management Pavel Latushka. The Telegram-channel of the Joint Transitional Cabinet reports.
Poland’s presidency of the European Union begins on January 1, 2025. The representative of the Polish Foreign Ministry noted that one of the main priorities during the Polish presidency of the EU will be to support the democratic aspirations of Belarusians.
One of the first important events during Poland’s EU presidency will be the holding of the “Kościuszko Forum”, a high-level conference, at the beginning of February 2025 on the initiative of Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski. It is planned to invite both the heads of a number of ministries of foreign affairs of European countries, as well as the head and representatives of the Joint Transitional Cabinet, the Coordinating Council, as well as other representatives of the Belarusian democratic community to participate in the event.
Pavel Latushka informed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs about the increase in repression in Belarus on the eve of the so-called elections. Pavel Latushka and Henryka Moscicka-Dendys agreed that today there are no grounds and conditions to call the farce organizing the regime democratic and transparent elections. Poland will participate in the preparation of the common position of the European Union, which, as planned, will be announced immediately after January 26, 2025.
