
In early December, mass arrests of former employees and journalists of the liquidated private newspaper “Intex-Press” took place in Baranavichy. It is known about the detention of seven people in the framework of an article on the promotion of extremist activities, the “Bierascieyskaya Viasna” reports.
“Intex-Press” was the largest independent regional publication in Belarus. The first issue of the newspaper was published in 1994.
After the so-called elections-2020, the editorial office faced blockages, searches, fines and confiscation of equipment.
In 2021, the paper version of the publication ceased publication due to repression. In 2023, the “Intex-Press” website and social networks were recognized as extremist materials.
