8+100 is a special forum in the European Parliament. It was held on January 15 in the capital of the united Europe, in Brussels.
The Forum unites eight Belarusian democratic parties and more than 100 European political parties supporting democratic changes in Belarus.: such a political association is for the sake of democratic change,” Anatol Lebedzka, Adviser on parliamentary cooperation and constitutional reform at Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s office, said on our broadcast.
“The Forum of Belarusian and European Parties, which takes place in the European Parliament, is a new channel of contact and communication. Party work has its own specifics. Here, the parties do not compete with either the cabinet, the Coordinating Council, or Tikhanovskaya’s office. The task of such forms is to attract as many circles of other political actors, parties, and parliamentarians as possible to the Belarusian agenda”, said he.
And before the political meeting in the walls of the European Parliament, an action of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners was held in front of the institution. The names of hundreds of people who are behind bars in Belarus for political reasons were read out. Malgorzata Gosewska, head of the Delegation of the European Parliament for Belarus, also joined the picket.
