During a working visit to Malta, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and President of the European Parliament Roberto Metsola signed a cooperation agreement between the European Parliament and the Belarusian democratic forces.
For the first time, the European Parliament signed a document of this kind not with the official government, the press service of the democratic leader of Belarus reports.
The agreement, among other things, declares the development of conditions for democratic transit in Belarus, including through assistance to democratic forces and civil society activists, human rights defenders, independent media and trade unions of Belarus within the framework of the EU4Belarus program and through building up educational initiatives and opportunities; as well as monitoring the observance of the rights and freedoms of Belarusians abroad.
