Dzmitry Kuchuk, the head of the liquidated Green Party, was sentenced to 6 years in a penal colony and 500 basic units of a fine. This is reported by @parlamentbel.
Dzmitry was detained on February 16 near the Russian embassy. Kuchuk came to lay flowers in memory of the deceased politician Alexei Navalny. A month later, it became known that a criminal case had been opened against the man.
His case began to be considered on November 22 in the Minsk City Court. Kuchuk was charged under two articles – “calls for sanctions” and “participation in actions grossly violating public order”. The verdict was handed down by Judge Alena Shylko.
Dzmitry is the former chairman of the Green Party (the party was liquidated in July 2023). He headed the “MS Zapadnaya” Joint stock company, an enterprise that collects and processes waste. Has an adult daughter.
