The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine asks Minsk not to escalate the situation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urged representatives of the Lukashenka regime not to escalate the situation in bilateral relations. This is reported by unian.net .

Thus, the speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgy Tikhy, commented on the threats of Belarusians to close the Ukrainian embassy in Minsk.

“We have seen these statements, studied them carefully, and are analyzing them. We do not see any particular expediency, to be honest, to react to them, because the Belarusian side is known for many statements that should not be reacted to. I will only say that the creation of “imaginary threats” from Ukraine, no matter how intense it may be, does not make these threats more real, therefore, we urge not to escalate these anti–Ukrainian sentiments and not create this impression of some imaginary threats that do not exist,” Tikhy stressed.

The speaker added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will continue to monitor the actions and statements of Belarus, as well as respond accordingly to them.
