Europe may send “deterrence” forces consisting of several brigades to Ukraine. It’s talking about an estimated number of 25,000 to 30,000 military personnel.
The Washington Post writes about this with reference to sources. It is noted that these troops, if they are sent to Ukraine, will not be deployed along the line of contact, but will be ready for a “show of force” if the Russian army resumes hostilities.
At the same time, the publication notes that the troops can be supported by “a large number of forces from outside Ukraine” if they have to quickly build up forces and advance.
France has implemented more advanced military planning. According to various estimates, Paris may send about 10,000 troops, “although other European allies are still more concerned or face limited capabilities of their armed forces,” two interlocutors told reporters.
