Zianon Paznyak called on the EU to negotiate with the Lukashenka regime

Zianon Paznyak, the leader of the Free Belarus movement, called on the EU to negotiate with the Lukashenka regime on the release of political prisoners in exchange for an end to the economic sanctions identified during the negotiations. He did this while commenting on the release of political prisoner Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk.

Paznyak wrote on his Facebook page, “I had to personally send a message to Aliaksandr Lukashenka asking him to release political prisoners, stop arrests and repressions against Belarusians. The prisoners were released in groups. And recently (just now) they released a landmark personality, whom I personally asked for, Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk, who was purposefully tortured and pushed into the grave in prison. She’s free now.”
