The Belarusian, who was in danger of returning to his homeland, was deported from Poland. Yesterday, on June 11th, 40-year-old Dzmitry Smaktunovich was announced to be deported. The reason for this decision is related to the violation of the rules of stay in the EU – the Lithuanian residence permit of the man was canceled. This was told by his wife Natallia.
It became known from her that yesterday morning in Bialystok Dzmitry was stopped by the police to check his documents. Then Natallia received a call from an employee of the Polish border guard service and informed her that her husband was at the border crossing in Terespol and they had signed documents for his deportation. Smaktunovich categorically did not want to return to his homeland because of the risk of repression, so he stayed on the bridge over the border Bug River.
Today, the day after the incident, another reason was added to the original reason for deportation – the residence permit was canceled. It turned out that Dzmitry was transporting illegal migrants who were moving to Poland from the Belarusian side.
This version has already been confirmed by the politician Pavel Latushka with reference to the Polish border guards.
While Dzmitry was on the bridge, the Polish border guard service blocked the movement of vehicles at the Terespol checkpoint.
In the end, Dzmitry decided to return to Belarus, where propagandists from state television and security forces were waiting for him.
In Poland, the man has a wife and three minor children.
