Belarusian Maria Myadvedzyeva, who was previously convicted of espionage, was arrested for three months on June 18, the Polish newspaper Fakt reports.
In December 2023, the Lublin District Court sentenced 14 of the 16 accused for participating in the preparation of sabotage and espionage in favor of Russia. Among the 16 accused were three Belarusians, including Maria Myadvedzyeva. Maria received a sentence of 1 year and 1 month in prison. The court decided to release Maria and the two men from custody, as they had served a significant part of their sentence before the trial.
As Rzeczpospolita wrote, after the verdict was announced and Maria was released from custody, she disappeared. She applied for parole, but did not come to the Warsaw court, which was supposed to make a decision. The court decided to detain her and send her to prison.
Most of the members of the Russian spy network are now in prisons.
It is known that Belarusian Maria Myadvedzyeva, who is now 20 years old, allowed money to be transferred to her account for a spy network. She also helped distribute leaflets designed to incite sentiment against Ukrainians. Before her arrest, she studied in Warsaw.
