An exhibition dedicated to the political prisoner, the Nobel laureate has opened in Warsaw

An exhibition dedicated to Belarusian political prisoner, human rights activist, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski has opened in the Polish Senate in Warsaw. It is intended to draw the attention of politicians to the problem of Belarusian political prisoners.

Polish and Belarusian figures made speeches at the event, as well as a screening of a film dedicated to the Nobel Prize winner.

“People live ordinary lives, so it is important to remind them that terror continues in our country. It is important to remind that people like Ales Bialiatski are a symbol of our indomitable struggle for a democratic Belarus. When he started it in the 80s in the Soviet Union, no one could even dream of an independent Belarus. And his fate, his example shows that we need to fight for an independent Belarus, for democracy, and we also need to remind the international community and thank them for accepting so many Belarusians,” says Ales Zarembiuk, head of the Belarusian House in Warsaw.
