Belarusian academicians and corresponding members who “permanently live abroad and (or) conduct activities directed against the Republic of Belarus and the Academy of Sciences of Belarus” want to be stripped of their titles. To do this, draft amendments to the statute of the National Academy of Sciences will be developed.

Such plans became known from a fragment of a document published in Telegram by scientist Sergei Bessarab entitled “protocol of instructions given by Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus Gusakou U. G. on September 2, 2024.”

Another task is to prepare a list of staff of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the right to access the Internet. The heads of its organizations will determine those employees who deserve this right at work. And the director of the Scientific and Practical Center for Materials Science was instructed to carry out a “mobilization of employees” aimed at “intensifying work on creating batteries for an electric car.”
