A cult declamatory competition has already been held at the general education lyceum with the Belarusian language of instruction in Hajnowka. The event has over thirty years of history, and its first participants are now looking at the new speakers with sentimentality.
Poems, prose texts and short performances in their native languages-dialects and Belarusian, could be heard performed by students from the whole Hajnowka district.
This is the first step for elementary school students in choosing our Belarusian lyceum, said its director Igor Lukaszuk.
“This is such an opportunity for elementary school students to visit the Hajnowka Belarusian Lyceum and realize their skills and talents here. This is also a way to cross the threshold of our lyceum as a first-grade student without hindrance in the future. And everyone who comes here and takes part in the Gavenda, I think they clearly understand that if they become our students, they will continue to develop their talent here,“ he said.
This year, the speakers recited poems by classics of Belarusian literature, writers of Bialystok region, but also presented their own literary works.
