In 2024, 16,437 foreign citizens were detained in Poland for crimes and administrative violations. This is 857 less than a year earlier. The figures follow from data from the Polish Police Headquarters obtained by RMF FM.
Foreigners were most often detained for driving in private vehicles after drinking alcohol. The leaders in detentions are citizens of Ukraine – 9753 people. They are significantly ahead of the citizens of all other states. Georgian citizens occupy the second position in the sad ranking — 1,780 people. Belarusians took the third place in the ranking of law enforcement violators. They were punished 1122 times. Belarusian citizens have been caught driving a car 178 times after drinking alcohol, 130 times for theft, and 59 arrests have occurred in cases of bribery.
Meanwhile, the Polish authorities are preparing stricter measures against violators of the law.
