Employees of the anti-corruption bureau check the editorial office of Belsat

In the morning, employees of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau of Poland came to the TVP building in Warsaw. This is reported by the newspaper Wyborcza.

According to the publication, the visit is taking place as part of the investigation of the case of abuse on the Belsat TV channel. “We are talking about allegations of abuse for large sums related to the payment of IT services for the TV channel,” the newspaper writes.

Wyborcza also wrote about the search of Agnieszka Romaszewska’s apartment, but the former head of the TV channel denied this information on social networks. Recall that the new TVP management accuses Romaszewska of allegedly not responding to reports of abuse, and also took discs with materials belonging to the TV channel from the editorial office. Obviously, within the framework of the case, specialists can carry out an inspection.

A spokesman for the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, Piotr Antoni Skiba, in an interview with PAP, said that the search is underway “in the case of causing large-scale property damage to TVP SA in the period from August 2018 to January 2024, totaling more than 7 million zlotys by concluding contracts for the provision of IT services and purchase orders with a specific entrepreneur.”

According to Skiba, the investigation is fully entrusted to the Warsaw department of the Central Bank. TVP’s head of public relations, Tomasz Wiaderek, told PAP that Polish television was cooperating with the Central Bank and had given him all the necessary documents.
