Chairman of the Rada of the Belarusian People’s Republic Ivonka Survilla congratulated Belarusians on the 104th anniversary of the Slutsk Armed Uprising.
Survilla urges us to remember our ancestors who understood the value of freedom and fought for the independence of Belarus. And also to help those who protect Ukraine from the Russian aggressor, ”because it is also a struggle for the independence of Belarus.”
“We must seek the release of Belarusian soldiers from Russian captivity, the immediate release of former Kalinin soldier Vasil Verameychyk, and international recognition of the rights of Belarusian veterans of the struggle against the Kremlin and their families. I am convinced that in the future the authorities of a free Belarus should reward the Belarusian defenders of Ukraine,” writes the chairman of the BNR Rada.
On November 27, Belarusians celebrate the anniversary of the Slutsk Armed Uprising (Heroes’ Day). In November 1920, battles between the troops of the Belarusian People’s Republic and the Red Army began in Sluchchyna. Units formed mainly from peasants fought for the independence of Belarus until the end of 1920.
Ivonka Survilla believes “that the time will come when God will free us from the alien cluster and his traitors”. However, she is not sure that she will live to see it. She is already 88 years old.
