New data has appeared on the number of IT specialists who left Belarus.
“Cyber partisans” write that in 2021-2024, more than 15,000 people left the IT market in Belarus. During the same period, more than 18,500 employees stopped working in the companies of the Park of High Technologies.
The “Cyber partisans” refer to statistics from the systems of government departments operating under the Lukashenka regime.
So far, there have been only approximate figures. For example, in the summer of 2022, it was assumed that from 16 to 23 thousand IT specialists could leave Belarus after the 2020 elections.
At the end of last year, Education Minister Andrei Ivanets said that universities in Belarus produce too many IT specialists. In his opinion, in the current economy they need half as many.
