Podlasie helps Polish regions affected by floods

Podlasie’s assistance to the Polish regions affected by the powerful floods in September is not interrupted. Assistance is provided through various structures, including the local branch of the Polish Red Cross.

These days, Red Cross activist Michal Grzybek returned from the region, which was severely affected by flooding, who was carrying hay and other animal feed for local farmers.

“At our Polish Red Cross, they brought clothes, buckets, water, food for dogs, for cats, but no one thought that there were also cows, sheep, goats, pigs. Well, as a guy from the village, from the expanse of Bialystok region, from Sokolka county, I decided that I would call the gminas. I called, talked, and started collecting hay and straw. A whole section was collected,” he said.

Podlasie farmers collected a lot of animal feed for their colleagues from the regions that were severely affected by the flood, but, as Michal Grzybek reported, it is a big problem to find the appropriate transport on which to deliver everything collected to the west of Poland, which was most affected by the flood.
