In Bialystok, official events were held on the central square near the monument to Marshal Jozef Pilsudski to commemorate the 106th anniversary of Poland’s Independence Day.
According to tradition, the heads of the city and the voivodeship addressed the Bialystochans, as well as a parade of military and law enforcement services.
Poland gained independence on November 11, 1918, after 123 years of domination by the Russian Empire as a result of three partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

Kosciuszko Square was gradually filled with participants of the solemn parade. Meanwhile, a solemn mass was held in the church nearby.
An open exhibition of the latest military equipment, as well as special services – customs, fire and police – was held in the center of Bialystok.
Many residents walked with their children. They were greeted by Marshal of the Podlaskie voivodeship Lukasz Prokorym, who treated the baby with sweets in honor of the holiday.
Anyone could hold a weapon, take a photo and ask questions for the military.
