The Belarusian Solidarity Center in Warsaw has received a response from the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs to its request for a foreigner’s travel document.
According to the interpretation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, received by Volha Dabravolskaya, head of the Legal assistance department of the Belarusian Solidarity Center, a Polish travel document is the equivalent of a passport issued to Polish citizens.
Thus, a foreigner’s travel document can serve not only to cross the border, but also to confirm the identity of its owner.
Also, in its interpretation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that when applying for a temporary or permanent residence permit, a residence permit for a long-term EU resident, a foreigner can provide a valid Polish travel document if he does not have the opportunity to present his Belarusian passport or other travel document.
