The public initiative to protect the graves of Belarusian figures has been created in Bialystok

The founding meeting of the public initiative for the protection of the graves of Belarusian figures was held in Bialystok. Among other things, the situation with the graves of Belarusian figures at the Orthodox cemetery of All Saints in Bialystok was discussed.

“It was decided that the collection would be carried out under the auspices of the Belarusian Historical Society, so that it would be transparent accordingly. We propose to make such a collection so that it can be seen how much has been collected and how much is still left,” the initiator of the meeting, local historian Aliaksei Trubkin, told about the results of the meeting.

“Of course, it is very important to preserve the memory of our heroes. I am very glad that the Belarusians who came to Bialystok and became residents of our city are just interested in this. There is a hope that someone will also worry about our graves,” said Oleg Latyszonek, a participant in the meeting, a chairman of the Belarusian Historical Society.

The next meeting of the public initiative for the protection of the graves of Belarusian figures in Bialystok will be held on December 3 at the Novaya Ziamla Hub.
