The results of the second Dookola Kola competition were summed up in Bialystok

The final of the second Dookoła Koła competition took place in Bialystok. The competition was addressed to the circles of rural housewives of Podlaskie voivodeship. The task of the participants was to send a film in which the activities of the club – genesis, achievements, goals – will be presented.

The awards were presented to the winners by Bogdan Dyjuk, a member of the Voivodeship Board. “We wanted to show the active role of municipal rural housewives. They have been experiencing a renaissance in recent years. They came to life again. A few decades ago there were a lot of them, almost every village had one. 34 clubs from all over the voivodeship participated in the competition organized by us,” he said.

The song and dance ensemble “Szepietowo na Ludowo” performed during the award ceremony. The meeting ended with a master class on the preparation of “marcinek”, which was led by Jaanna Binchicka from Hajnovka.

“You don’t have to have Podlaskie roots to be able to create delicious “marcinek”. My grandfather moved to work, came to Hajnovka and settled here with his family. The secret of “marcinek” is primarily in good raw materials. Next come the thin pancakes. Hajnovka is such a “marcinek” paradise, “marcinek” is made by almost everyone before,” the woman said.

Following the results of the dookoła Koła competition, the commission also awarded four awards, with a total value of 5,500 zlotys. They were received by the wheels of village housewives from Stare Berezowo, Popławce, Grodzisk and Dobrzyniewo.
