Bialystok turned into the book capital of Poland for a few days

On April 19, 20 and 21, Bialystok hosts for the eleventh time the book fair and the literary festival “On the Border of Cultures” – the main event of this kind in the east of Poland.

A Belarusian independent publisher Andrei Yanushkevich also participates in it. At the stand of the Belarusian Warsaw bookstore “Knihauka”, visitors of the fair will find many novelties of the Belarusian independent press.

“The purpose of participation is clear, it is quite simple, it is to present books directly to the readership. Get in touch with readers, offer books at good prices. Well, the second important point, besides this communication with readers, here I mean the sale of books too, because this is important. Another important point is to stay in this publishing community, get to know publishers, and establish contacts if possible,” says the book publisher.

In addition to the exhibition and sale, other activities are expected. Valiantsina Aksak and Uladzimir Arlou will sign their books. Belarusian writers will be able to meet on April 20 from 12 to 13 o’clock in the ”Art Zone” (Strefa Sztuki), which is held by the Podlaskie auction house. And at the stand of the “Knihauka” bookstore, visitors to the fair will find publications from other Belarusian publishers – Vesna Books, Gutenberg Publisher, Pfleumbaum, Skaryna Press.
