Free Yiddish language courses have been organized in Bialystok

The Museum “The Place” in Bialystok, located at 6 Malmeda Street, organized free Yiddish language courses.

The training is conducted by the Yiddish linguist from Kaunas Julius Narvila.

“Polish, German and Yiddish are integral parts of my culture. It’s like subtracting the English language, what the world would look like then, in a completely different way. Therefore, I think it is very important to know Yiddish, especially for people working in the field of culture, in museums,” says the teacher.

During recent classes, students explored and learned to read a fairy tale about the miller, the Jewish writer from Belarus Ben Zion Raskin, with illustrations by El Lissitzky. The Yiddish course in Bialystok takes place every two weeks on Thursdays.
